Boons in Fortnite Chapter 6: What they are and how they affect gameplay
A new addition to Fortnite you must grasp to get the most out of in the matches. In Fortnite, Boons help with speed, reload time, and even show enemy locations. They first appeared in Chapter 6 Season 1 and quickly became a key part of every match. In the current season, Boons are even stronger and easier to get. Here is everything you need to know about Boons in Fortnite Chapter 6!
What are Boons in Fortnite?
Boons are special abilities that give players ongoing benefits. They are not weapons or healing items. They activate as soon as you pick them up and stay active until the end of the match. A Boon might increase movement speed, reduce recoil, or reveal the next storm circle. You do not need to use or equip anything.
You can find Boons in chests, rare OXR chests, Hive sacs, and OXR Drop Pods. Some can also be bought from Black Markets with one Dill Bit. Early in Chapter 6, players mainly earned them by returning Sprites to Sprite Shrines. Now there are many more ways to collect them.
Boons connect to the OXR Rank system. Players move from Rank C up to S+ by opening chests, defeating enemies, or destroying Swarmer Nests. Each time the rank goes up, a Drop Pod lands with a guaranteed Super Soldier Boon. Higher ranks give stronger effects, so players who stay active gain bigger rewards.

All Boons in Fortnite
Boons give different types of benefits. Some help in combat, while others increase speed or resources. Below are the main Boons you can find in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4:
- Super Soldier Boons – These are available in Rank B, A, S, and S+. Higher ranks bring stronger bonuses. Rank S+ offers unlimited stamina, faster reload speed, lower weapon recoil and bullet spread, and faster tactical sprint.
- Agile Aiming Boon – Reduces recoil and spread when aiming down sights and improves movement speed while aiming.
- Extended Magazine Boon – Increases the size of weapon magazines, so players can fire longer without reloading.
- Storm Forecast Boon – Reveals the next storm circle, giving more time to plan and move to safe ground.
- Vulture Boon – Marks enemies on the map for a short time after they are eliminated.
- Rita Repulsa’s Boon – Supplies Light, Medium, and Shell ammo over time.
- Elemental Boons – These include Fire for faster reloads, Void for revealing nearby players after an elimination, Wind for faster movement while holding a Pickaxe, and Water for restoring health and shields while swimming.

Current seasonal versions add more choices:
- Gold Rush Boon gives faster movement and harvesting after opening or breaking chests.
- Adrenaline Rush Boon adds the Slap Effect for faster movement and temporary unlimited stamina after mantling, hurdling, or wall jumping.
- Gold Ammo Boon provides ammo when you pick up Gold Bars.
- Greed Boon grants extra Gold Bars from eliminations and opened containers.
Players can hold several Boons at the same time and can even collect all of them in a single match. Because they do not use weapon or healing slots, there is no reason to leave them behind.
How to get Boons in Fortnite
In Fortnite, Boons can be collected in several reliable ways. Knowing these methods helps you build a stronger loadout.
- Normal and Rare Chests – Standard chests sometimes drop Boons, but rare blue chests have a higher chance. Vaults at Masked Meadows, Crime City, Lonewolf Lair, Seaport City, and the Train are high-tier loot areas that often include rare chests.
- OXR Drop Pods – Every time you gain a new OXR Rank, a Drop Pod lands nearby. Each one contains a Super Soldier Boon. This is the best method to secure high-rank Boons during a match.
- OXR Chests and Hive Sacs – These special containers near Swarmer Nests drop Boons more often than normal loot.
- Black Markets – Certain Black Markets sell Boons for one Dill Bit. Inventory may vary, but these markets remain the most dependable way to buy select Boons.

Boons stay with you even if you are eliminated and revived. They cannot be dropped or stolen. To collect them faster, focus on increasing your OXR Rank early. Search chests, defeat enemies, and clear Swarmer Nests to trigger more Drop Pods. Combine these efforts with planned Black Market purchases to build a complete set.
