Now with over 20 Agents, it gets more time consuming to learn all of them by the season. So if you're learning a new Agent, it's definitely worthwhile to know your Agent on a more personal level. VALORANT Agents
In total, currently there are 22 playable Agents, that span across four different roles; Controller, Duelist, Initiator and Sentinel. Brimstone Real Name
Born in the United States of America, Liam Byrne was a firefighter and special forces soldier prior to becoming a founding member of the VALORANT Protocol. His past is represented well through his abilities being fairly military focused, such as smokes and incendiary grenades.
Brimstone's real name is in fact Liam Byrne.
Phoenix Real Name
Born and raised in Peckham in London, England, Phoenix joined the VALORANT Protocol as its ninth member. Previously, Jamie Adeyemi was attending a performing arts school before being suspended. The first time we see Phoenix is in the opening trailer where he is attempting to prevent Jett from detonating a spike - that ended up welcoming Ascent into the map pool.
Phoenix's real name is Jamie Adeyemi.
Sage Real Name
Sage's real name is Wei Ling Ying. She is a radiant monk hailing from China. Not much else is known of her past, only that she was promoted quickly through ranks within the VALORANT Protocol due to her natural leadership.
Sage's real name is Wei Ling Ying.
Sova Real Name
Sova is of Russian descent, and hails from Severomorsk in Russia. Sasha Novikov lost his eye in a publicly unknown incident, but we can hear it be spoken about on occasion when you have a Cypher on your team.
"Sova, I accessed your background file, a good story! But that's not really how you lost your eye."
Sova's real name is Sasha Novikov.
Jett Real Name
Jett is in fact South Korean, working as a chef in her early life before a wind-related incident occurred at the restaurant she was working at. This destroyed the building that housed her workplace and Han Sunwoo chose to flee the scene.
Jett's real name is Han Sunwoo.
Viper Real Name
Another of the founding members, Sabine Callas was an award winning scientist who worked previously for Kingdom Corporation, before an incident changed everything for her. So much so that she isolated herself and instead focused on exacting vengeance instead - leading us to the Viper we know and love. She also has a link to another Controller we know and love, but we'll get into that soon enough.
Viper's real name is Sabine Callas.
Cypher Real Name
Referred to as a "one-man surveillance network", Cypher is an expert in sourcing secrets and whereabouts on every enemy and ally. Amir El Amari, translated to "Prince of the Moon" in Arabic, was born in Rabat, Morocco. Growing up, he witnessed his city deteriorate due to the work of Kingdom Corporation. He has gone to extreme lengths to ensure his information is concealed, and his identity stays private. For this reason, he constantly wears his mask.
Cypher's real name is Amir El Amari.
Reyna Real Name
Emanating from Mexico, Zyanya Mondragón has the ability to consume life energy from souls of those that were recently deceased at her hand. Reyna has a hatred for technology and humanity after being affected by a disastrous incident involving machinery. She isn't fueled by hatred however, as she previously built a sanctuary for people escaping from Kingdom Corporation, choosing to protect and avenge those that joined the community.
Reyna's full name is Zyanya Mondragón.
Killjoy Real Name
An incredibly smart individual hailing from Germany, Killjoy was formerly nominated for an invention award and led a department of Kingdom Corporation at just 18 years old. The fourth member of the VALORANT Protocol, and dubbed "Killjoy" because of her ability to reduce the workload for her team, Klara Böhringer now spends her time developing new works under the supervision of Brimstone.
Killjoy's real name is Klara Böhringer.
Breach Real Name
Known as "The Bionic Swede", Breach is in fact a criminal deriving from the Nordics. When his entire family was convicted of crimes, Erik Torsten was shown leniency due to being a double congenital amputee. After going on to build his own mechanical arms, he eventually had to exile himself from his own home due to becoming too notorious for the crimes he had committed. He actually partnered up with another agent soon after who assisted him with some huge upgrades that he continues to use.
Breach's real name is Erik Torsten.
Omen Real Name
Here's an interesting one, because we don't actually have a specific name for our phantom friend. He has slight remnants of memories, such as remembering an incident which saw him ripped apart and killed, a location known as "Point Light", and a previous acquaintance in Sabine Callas, who we know as Viper. The extent of Viper's knowledge on his past is unknown, but it is clear that they have some form of past due to this quote from Viper.
"Joh-... I mean, Omen. Keep yourself together, you're still needed."
Whether this is a reference to the instance where he is being "ripped apart", we don't know. He's never actually been closer to knowing in fact, as he has requested Cypher to help him find answers, in which Cypher suggests in an in-game interaction that he has the information that Omen requested, but needs to meet his price first.
We hope he gets his closure soon enough.
Raze Real Name
The creator of Breach's upgraded mechanical arms, Tayane Alves is an engineer from Salvador, Brazil. Infectious enthusiasm and an eye for colors and explosives, it's no surprise she combined her two passions into one. She witnessed first hand the depreciation of her home town due to Kingdom Corporation's involvements, and was a huge factor in forcing them out. Although applying her trade to matters of the world, her heart always stays focused on keeping her hometown safe.
Raze's real name is Tayane Alves.
Skye Real Name
Another agent that previously pushed back against Kingdom Corporation's work in her home state, Kirra Foster hails from Eastern Australia, and is locally renowned as the "Great Reclaimer". Initially when approached to join the VALORANT Protocol, she had her reservations as it would mean leaving her home unprotected. However, after Sage reached out and reasoned with her about the existence of several rifts that matched the ones above her native Australia, Skye broadened her sights on just how big the fight actually was.
Skye's real name is Kirra Foster.
Yoru Real Name
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Kiritani Ryo is a man focused on the past. His ancestors were an ancient order of samurai, and with this interest in mind, it kept leading him back to a specific location that we now know as Icebox. Upon first sneaking into Icebox, he stole that mask from a set of samurai armor that allows him to see into another dimension. Despite having assignments elsewhere after joining the VALORANT Protocol, he continues to search for answers on Icebox in the hopes that his superiors see the importance soon enough. When on Split, Yoru reminisces about the location of the map.
“This neighborhood used to be so much better without this Kingdom s***.”
Yoru's real name is Kiritani Ryo.
Astra Real Name
Cosmic agent, Efia Danso, derives from Ghana and wears a golden gauntlet that contains an incredible source of power that she uses to oversee any events that may have a universal effect. Continuing her role as a guardian, she also joined the VALORANT Protocol to help with their more earthly, and other-earthly, missions. Amid the VALORANT Protocol tracking a possible new agent, Astra discovered that she was not the only one with a "Guardian artifact".
Astra's real name is Efia Danso.
KAY/O Real Name
A robot from an alternate future, KAY/O was created by humans of his reality to resist and fight back against Radiants. KAY/O eventually traveled centuries back in time to the present day, landing on an island in the Caribbean that we know as "Breeze". KAY/O now works alongside some of the radiants he sought to destroy.
Unsurprisingly, KAY/O is... KAY/O's real name.
Chamber Real Name
Previously of the French military, Vincent Fabron went on to design weapons for Kingdom. After this however, he continued on to communicate with his counterpart from the other earth - known as Omega Earth - in which they combined to destroy the Everett-Linde Research Facility, creating Fracture. Soon after, he was recruited by the VALORANT Protocol, although the trust there is on thin ice. Chamber went on to supply blueprints for the teleporter between earths, and suggested a new recruit to power said teleporter.
Chamber's real name is Vincent Fabron.
Neon Real Name
The power solution that Chamber suggested previously, Tala Nicole Dimaapi Valdez originates from the Philippines and is empowered by bioelectricity. She was originally a veteran for Kingdom's security team but switched up to help out the VALORANT Protocol with their connection to Omega Earth.
Neon's real name is Tala Nicole Dimaapi Valdez.
Fade Real Name
The fifth Initiator to be released in VALORANT, Hazal Eyletmez originally hunted down the VALORANT Protocol because she was led to suspect that someone from the organization had kidnapped someone important to her. After threatening to leak information about each of the Agents, she was captured by the VALORANT Protocol team and interrogated as to why she was targeting them. Eventually they came to the conclusion that there was a mistake in her tracking, and it could have been an Agent from Omega Earth. She soon after joined up with the team, seeking additional help to find the person of importance.
Fade's real name is Hazal Eyletmez.
Harbor Real Name
The other agent with a Guardian artifact, and the one being tracked by Astra, Varun Batra was originally part of an agency that recovered historical artifacts to their native countries, and was on a mission to locate the mentioned Guardian artifact before it activated and attached itself to Varun. After being framed and hunted by his colleague who wanted the artifact for himself, Varun was hunted for almost two months before escaping to be a part of the VALORANT Protocol.
Harbor's real name is Varun Batra.
Gekko Real Name
Mateo Armendáriz De la Fuente was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and is now assisted by four little creatures with transformational abilities. Previously property of Kingdom, Mateo now travels with these creatures in his carrier sash everywhere he goes.
Gekko's real name is Mateo Armendáriz De la Fuente.
Deadlock Real Name
The most recent Agent to join the VALORANT Protocol, Iselin. Iselin is a Norwegian operative who was found by Sova after her team were attacked by a bear that was transformed by experiments. She was missing an arm after it was caught in the blast that she used to dispose of the bear, and so was rescued by Sova and taken back to the VALORANT Protocol headquarters where she received a new prosthetic arm. It turns out that she isn't too fond of Gekko's creatures, as they were also part of "Project Landfall'', which was what created the bear that just obliterated her team.
Deadlock's real name is Iselin, although we don't know her full name just yet.
