Rocket League recently made an official announcement about a new competition for all players worldwide. It is worldwide because the competition is held regionally all around the world. With thousands of dollars at stake, all players are welcome to the event that will last until the end of the year. Here is everything you need to know about the Rocket League Cash Cup 2025!

What is Rocket League Cash Cup?

The Rocket League Cash Cup is a monthly tournament series open to all players, running from April to December 2025. Each month introduces a new game mode, including 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, Rumble, and Hoops, ensuring variety and fresh challenges. These events are available across several regions, and players can register through StartGG. With a total prize pool of over $390,000 distributed across all events, the format offers broader opportunities for participants to win.

    How to register

You can register for each Cup on StartGG. Registration is open before each event. The deadline is listed on the tournament page. Every player on a team must have a StartGG account and link it to their Epic Games account. Once the team is created, each member must accept the invite. You cannot use a substitute or have a spectator in your match unless given permission. You may only register for one region per month. Seeding depends on your average in-game rank for that month’s mode.

    Event format explained

Each Cash Cup takes place over three days. All matches use a double-elimination format.

    Day 1

Teams are split into pools of 16. Matches are best-of-three. If a team loses twice, they are out. Eight teams from each pool move to Day 2. The number of pools and teams per pool may change depending on how many players sign up.

    Day 2

On the second day of the tournament, 128 teams from Day 1 continue their journey. They are divided into four pools, each featuring 16 teams in the upper bracket and 16 in the lower bracket. A team’s placement from Day 1 determines its starting position. Teams that lose in the upper bracket move down to the lower bracket, while those losing in the lower bracket are eliminated from the competition. Most matches follow a best-of-three format, except for the winners finals and lower semi-finals, which are best-of-five. At the end of Day 2, three teams from each pool move on to Day 3.

    Day 3

Twelve teams move forward. Four teams start in the upper bracket and eight in the lower bracket. All matches are best-of-five. A team that loses in the lower bracket is eliminated. If the team from the lower bracket reaches the Grand Final, they must win two matches to become champions. This is known as a “bracket reset.”

Onur Demirkol here, content writer for THESPIKEGG. I have been around for a very long time now, you may have seen me in the comments.

I started writing here in 2021, but my first gig was back in 2018. That was when I realized people actually get paid to write about games. I’ve written thousands of articles for different media outlets, led teams, and conducted interviews with players.

When I’m not behind the keyboard, I’m watching Galatasaray, following the NBA, or pretending I’m still good at basketball. I also work full-time at AnyDesk, writing serious things in not-so-serious ways.
