New players ascend to the top of the VALORANT scene every year, and it is a scene that is continuously changing. A few players in 2023 have distinguished themselves from the pack by routinely putting on strong performances on the biggest stages. On the other hand, some of them looked off compared to their previous performances but somehow managed to stay at the top. Today, we listed some of the best VALORANT players that you might want to check out!

Best VALORANT players

There are many good VALORANT players in the highest leagues. Stats do not always provide optimal insight into a player’s capacities or performance, but they tell a lot. If you see a name that you aren’t familiar with, it is probably because this is not a fan-favorite players list but the players with the best ratings since the start of the 2023 season. Please be reminded that only the major league players were considered in the list, and they are the best VALORANT players in 2023.

Here is a list of the best VALORANT players!

Derke - 1.22 Rating

Derke
Derke

Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev is by far the best player in the world for some, while others say there is an intense competition for the first place between him and aspas. The Finnish player is known for playing Duelists, and considering Fnatic’s recent success, Derke is easily one of the best VALORANT players in the world. He has always been the most important piece on the Fnatic roster, even though the rest of the squad changed heavily.

Derke led the VCT 2023 EMEA League stat race with 1.27 in 28 maps, and his teammate Chronicle was right behind him with a 1.25 rating. Fnatic played incredibly as a team, but Derke’s personal performance and effort can’t be underestimated.

Following Fnatic’s success in EMEA, Derke’s good performance continued at VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo, and Fnatic once again didn’t let any other team lift the trophy but themselves. This time, Derke didn’t have the highest rating, but he held a 1.14 rating in 10 maps, while his teammate Chronicle was second on the list, right behind the Chinese player ZmjjKK.

The debate for the best VALORANT players will continue forever, and there will be new talents rising to the top in the upcoming years, but for now, Derke is definitely one of the best players.

Chronicle - 1.21 Rating

Chronicle
Chronicle

After parting ways with M3C, Chronicle’s next stop was highly wondered by many fans. It is because he is simply one of the best VALORANT players in the world. It is not only his mechanical skills but his strategies, impact, and plays during the games.

Just like he did at Gambit, Chronicle once again showed his impact on the battlefield after joining Fnatic. The Russian player’s all-time career rating is 1.14, but he is surely on another level this season, placing second after his teammate Derke with a 1.21 rating. Every player on the Fnatic roster has quality, but with Chronicle’s individual performance this year, they look even scarier.

Chronicle is a very valuable member of the successful Fnatic roster that won two international trophies this year, VCT 2023 LOCK//IN and VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo. Moreover, he was our MVP pick at Tokyo, and he won the THESPIKE.GG MVP award of the tournament.

Sayf - 1.18 Rating

Sayf
Sayf

Are you surprised? Well, Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel is having an incredible season at Team Liquid. The Swedish player is part of Liquid’s super team that failed to meet the expectations at the beginning of the season but quickly rose to the top. Liquid won the VCT 2023 Emea League race, and Sayf was surely one of the most important pieces of the roster.

Considering this season, Sayf holds an impressive 1.18 rating and is the third on our list, after Fnatic’s Derke and Chronicle. Last year, we saw him play Chamber all the time, but as the meta changed, Sayf went back to his picks, Jett and Raze, and now the statistics show that he is the second-best duelist in EMEA.

Very talented players at Team Liquid surround Sayf, and after winning the EMEA League, the goals for the team are very high, possibly becoming the VALORANT Champions 2023 champions. Sayf is one of the VALORANT players you should look out for!

invy - 1.17 Rating

invy
invy

Another name that not everybody is familiar with to see in a “VALORANT best players” list but Jiggs Adrian "invy" Reyes is having the time of his life this season. He plays for Team Secret and is obviously one of the biggest weapons in his team’s arsenal.

Unlike Derke and Sayf, invy prefers Initiators like KAY/O, Skye, and his most picked agent is Breach. Invy picked Breach 15 times in ther past three months and held a 1.16 rating with the Agent. He also holds a 1.48 rating on KAY/O, but he only played the agent five times in the past couple of months.

Team Secret almost qualified for Champions 2023, but they lost to the APAC LCQ Grand Final against ZETA DIVISION. Invy’s good form ended without qualifying for Champions, but he still put on a show for the APAC fans during the season and made it to our best VALORANT players list.

Aspas - 1.17 rating

aspas
aspas

This one can also be pretty surprising as Erick "aspas" Santos is considered the best VALORANT player by many people, especially Brazilian fans. Aspas currently holds a 1.73 rating, and that is why he is the fifth player on our list. The Brazilian player is known for playing duelists, and most people think that he is the best Jett player in the world.

When it comes to his all-time rating, aspas is still one of the best in the field, with 1.26. He won the VCT 2023 Americas League trophy with his team and added another medal to his collection. After a disappointing run at VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo, rumors say that the Brazilian superstar will leave his team at the end of the season, but it is still a mystery.

Aspas might be at the fifth spot on this list, but this doesn’t mean he is less skilled than any other player above him. This is a list of the best VALORANT players in 2023, and all of these players are listed according to their current ratings.

Who is the best VALORANT player?

Derke and aspas are considered two of the best VALORANT players in the world, but it is up for debate. Each player has their own strengths and weaknesses, but it is up to the individual to decide which is the best VALORANT player.

Derke has been the best player on the Fnatic roster since he joined the team, and even after a couple of years, it did not change. Every role is very important in the professional stage, but Derke’s contribution and impact are on another level.

On the other hand, aspas is not very different from Derke when it comes to contribution and impact. After joining LOUD, aspas has countlessly proved he is one of the best VALORANT players in the world.
