Is Lotus in competitive VALORANT?
Yes, Lotus is in the competitive map pool for when you play ranked games in VALORANT.
After the VALORANT community flooded Google, Reddit, and Twitter with the question “Is Lotus in ranked VALORANT”, Riot Games finally put Lotus in the map pool on January 18, 2023.
This, did not actually follow the pattern, but instead Lotus was released into Lotus-only Swiftplay queues for a week, then released into the competitive queue.
The latest VALORANT map also received the first of its changes in the same patch, having the sound of the rotating doors turned down after players complained about it.
Is Lotus in Unrated VALORANT?
Now we've answered the question, is Lotus in ranked VALORANT, what about unranked? Well, Lotus is still in unrated queues, don’t worry! If you are just looking for a light-hearted game, that has no stakes apart from just having fun and improving at the game, you can still get Lotus in the unrated map pool.
In fact, every map in the game is in the unrated map pool. Riot Games and VALORANT only remove and rotate maps in the competitive rated map pool. These are kept to 7 maps out of the possible 9!

Lotus is a very close quarters map, so agents that can get around and love being up in your face are ideal for it. Duelists like Raze and Neon, want to get in and make as much noise as possible, whilst KAY/O and Omen play very aggressively as Initiators and Controllers respectively.
Killjoy is the best Sentinel pick on Lotus for a different reason however, as Lotus has a lot of tight angles to push onto each spike site, Killjoy can set up and defend every angle on a Spike site!
