Is ODM Gear still available in Fortnite?
It's a tough pill to swallow, but alas, the ODM Gear bid its farewell in Fortnite. That trusty old friend, now consigned to the vault, will surely be missed by many. The equipment was unfortunately vaulted at the commencement of Fortnite Wilds Chapter 4, Season 3. Its removal from the jungle-themed season left many players curious about its absence and whether it might return in the future.

Current availability of ODM Gear
Presently, obtaining the ODM Gear in Fortnite is impossible as it was vaulted at the beginning of Chapter 4, Season 3. This versatile and potent weapon served both traversal and combat purposes, earning its popularity among players in the previous season. Previously, players could acquire this item by searching Eren Jaeger's Footlocker Chests scattered across the map. However, with the introduction of Fortnite Wilds, these chests were removed, leaving the ODM Gear a cherished memory.
Possibility of ODM Gear's return
While there hasn't been any official confirmation or leaks regarding its return, speculations arise that the ODM Gear might resurface alongside the introduction of new Attack of the Titans cosmetics. Drawing a parallel to the reintroduction of other mythic items such as the Web Shooter and Kamehameha, which made a comeback when new Spider-Man and Dragon Ball cosmetics were added, it's reasonable to assume that the ODM Gear could reappear in Fortnite sometime in the future. So, fingers crossed, right?
What is the ODM Gear?

The primary function of the ODM Gear was to swiftly traverse different surfaces by grappling and swinging between them. It had the capability to grapple onto two points simultaneously, allowing for agile movement across the terrain. Additionally, it served as a tool for attacking enemies. Users could prepare and initiate an attack, which would grapple them towards the reticle and unleash a rotating area-of-effect (AOE) slash attack. Following the attack, a shockwave effect was triggered, enabling a brief floating ability. It was possible to execute multiple attacks in succession, although this action impacted the item's durability.
In contrast to previous mobility items, the ODM Gear possessed a durability bar that depleted with each grappling or attacking action. When the durability was exhausted, the item broke and became unusable. Moreover, if a user made contact with the ground or released the grapple, a short cooldown period would commence. Similar to the mechanics of the Grapple Glove and Spider-Man's Web Shooters, consecutive grappling attempts would slow down the cooldown duration. Additionally, sustaining damage while airborne resulted in a free fall, making the user vulnerable to fall damage.
Fortnite × Attack on Titan collaboration
Fortnite introduced its Attack on Titan collaboration in Chapter 4, Season 2, launching April 11, 2023 with the v24.20 update. This crossover included:
The Attack on Titan cosmetics in Fortnite have had limited availability since their initial release. Eren Jaeger was a Battle Pass-exclusive skin during Chapter 4, Season 2, and has not returned since, making him currently unavailable. Mikasa Ackermann and Captain Levi were released as purchasable skins in the Item Shop and, while not tied to the Battle Pass, they have not reappeared in the shop as of early 2025—though they could return in future rotations. The ODM Gear and Thunder Spears, which were mythic items introduced during the crossover, have been vaulted and are no longer accessible in the game’s current loot pool.
