The Dave the Diver Fortnite collaboration is officially happening, bringing one of gaming's most beloved indie characters to Epic Games' battle royale. As part of Fortnite's Gaming Legends Series, players will soon be able to unlock the Dave Outfit and other cosmetics inspired by Mintrocket's hit underwater adventure game.

Here's the catch: before you can claim the skin for free, you'll first need to purchase either Dave the Diver or its new DLC through the Epic Games Store. 

Players who don't want to do that will still have the option to buy the cosmetics directly from the Fortnite Item Shop once they become available. Here is everything you need to know.

Is Dave the Diver coming to Fortnite?

Yes. Epic Games has officially confirmed a collaboration between Fortnite and Dave the Diver.

The crossover adds Dave as a playable Fortnite Outfit, making him the latest character to join the Gaming Legends Series. The collaboration was announced alongside promotional material for Dave the Diver and its upcoming expansion, Dave the Diver: In the Jungle.

How to get the Dave the Diver skin in Fortnite

There are currently two confirmed ways to obtain the Dave Outfit.

Buy Dave the Diver on Epic Games Store

Players who purchase Dave the Diver through the Epic Games Store will receive the Fortnite cosmetic reward.

Buy the In the Jungle DLC

Players can also qualify by purchasing the Dave the Diver: In the Jungle Content Pack through the Epic Games Store. After purchasing either product, the Fortnite rewards will be added to the linked Epic account.

You should connect your accounts

To make sure you receive the Dave Outfit and Dave's Oxygen Tank Back Bling, you should use the same Epic Games account for both Fortnite and your Epic Games Store purchase. Here is how:

1. Visit the Epic Games Account portal.
2. Sign in to your Epic Games account.
3. Confirm that this is the same account you use to play Fortnite.
4. Purchase Dave the Diver or the Dave the Diver: In the Jungle Content Pack through the Epic Games Store while logged into that account.
5. Launch Fortnite after the purchase is complete.

The rewards should automatically appear in your Locker once they are granted.

If you buy the game or DLC on a different Epic account, the Fortnite cosmetics may be delivered to the wrong account. Always double-check your login details before making a purchase.

Already bought the Dave Outfit?

If you've already purchased the Dave Outfit and Dave's Oxygen Tank Back Bling from the Fortnite Item Shop, then later buy Dave the Diver or the In the Jungle Content Pack through the Epic Games Store, you'll receive 1,500 V-Bucks instead of the cosmetics. This compensation is granted once per eligible account.

Is the Dave the Diver Fortnite skin free?

Technically, yes and no.

The skin is being promoted as a free Fortnite reward, but players must first purchase either:

• Dave the Diver
• Dave the Diver: In the Jungle Content Pack

Once purchased through the Epic Games Store, the Fortnite cosmetics are awarded at no additional cost.

Will Dave the Diver be in the Fortnite Item Shop?

Yes.

Epic Games has confirmed that the Dave Outfit will also be sold separately through the Fortnite Item Shop beginning on June 25, 2026. This means players who don't want to buy the game can still purchase the skin directly using V-Bucks.

At the time of writing, Epic has not revealed the final V-Bucks price.
