Millions of players play the well-known online shooter game VALORANT every day. However, there are occasions when you might choose to play the game alone, away from other gamers, or your friends. You might want to test out a new agent, hone your abilities, or just take in some single battles. Whatever the cause, you might ponder whether there is a solution in VALORANT to make yourself appear offline while concealing your online status from others. Deceive VALORANT is one of the methods that you can try. If you want to know how to appear offline in VALORANT, keep reading!

Can you really appear offline in VALORANT? Yes, but it's not exactly a clear-cut response. Neither the Riot client nor the game settings for VALORANT provide an official way to make yourself appear offline. There is a workaround, though, and it entails altering a few computer files and using a third-party tool. By using this technique, you can hide your online status in VALORANT and stop people from viewing your match record or rank. Use it at your own risk, as it does have certain disadvantages.

How to appear offline: Deceive VALORANT

Deceive VALORANT is a third-party app that you can run to appear offline in the game. Thanks to this app, you won’t need to block any of the people you are trying to avoid, and everyone will see you offline.

Deceive is a program that lets you hide your online status in Riot games, such as VALORANT, League of Legends, and Legends of Runeterra. It works by intercepting the connection between your computer and Riot's servers and modifying the data that is sent and received.

If you want to know how to download and use Deceive VALORANT, read the steps below:

  1. Download Deceive from the official website.
  2. Extract the Deceive.zip file to a folder of your choice and run Deceive.exe as administrator. You will see a window with a list of Riot games that you have installed on your computer.
  3. Select VALORANT from the list and click on the "Offline" button at the bottom. This will launch VALORANT with Deceive running in the background. You will see a small icon of Deceive in your system tray, indicating that it is active.
  4. Log in to VALORANT as usual. You will notice that your online status will be shown as offline to everyone else. You can still play the game normally, join matches, chat with teammates, and access all the features of the game. However, no one will be able to see that you are online, invite you to parties, or view your profile.
  5. To disable Deceive and appear online again, simply close VALORANT and Deceive. The next time you launch VALORANT without Deceive, your online status will be restored.

That's how you can appear offline in VALORANT using Deceive. However, before you try this method, you should be aware of some potential issues and risks:

  • If VALORANT or Riot's servers are updated in the future, Deceive might not function properly. It can result in glitches, crashes, or other issues with your computer or the game.
  • Deceive might obstruct the functionality of other applications or services that access Riot's servers, such as Discord or Twitch. You might be unable to utilize certain features, or they could stop working as a result.
  • Deceive might not completely hide your online presence. Through other channels, such as independent websites or applications that monitor VALORANT stats and information, some players might still be able to know that you are online.

Is Deceive bannable on VALORANT?

The short answer is no, Deceive is not bannable on VALORANT. Riot said that you won't be banned if you use Deceive because it doesn't interfere with the Valorant's anti-cheat Vanguard and doesn't pull any personal data.

Normally, Riot Games are against third-party applications for its titles like VALORANT, League of Legends, or others. Deceive VALORANT is luckily not bannable in VALORANT, and you don’t have to worry about getting banned just because you wanted to look offline.

Blocking friends

Unfortunately, there is no official way for VALORANT to go invisible or offline in the game. This means that, unless you choose to block them, your friends will always be able to see when you are online and are playing VALORANT.

Your friends won't be able to message you, invite you to events, or make requests in the game if you have blocked them. If you want to play with them later, this also means that you won't be able to interact with them or join their parties.

Blocking friends is not the most ideal way. If you still want to give it a shot, here is how to block friends in VALORANT:

  1. Launch VALORANT and log in to your account.
  2. Click on the Social tab at the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Find the friend that you want to block and right-click on their name.
  4. Select Block from the drop-down menu.
  5. Repeat this process for any other friends that you want to block and appear offline to.
  6. To unblock your friends, follow the same steps but select Unblock instead of Block.

VALORANT offline mode

As mentioned, there isn’t an official offline mode for VALORANT. An internet connection is necessary for the game to launch, confirm your account, and link you to a match server. VALORANT cannot be played offline against AI or in a special game mode. Without an online connection, you can't access the game's options, shop, or inventory either.

However, there is a workaround that can help you appear offline in VALORANT using third-party apps. So you will need to try out the methods we have given above. Try out Deceive VALORANT or block the friends that you don’t want to be seen online by.
