Fortnite Donut Storms are one of the most unusual storm patterns ever added to the game. Instead of a normal shrinking circle, the storm forms a ring-shaped zone, creating a donut-like pattern on the map. This changes how players move, survive, and complete event quests, especially the challenge that asks you to collect dangerous objects inside Donut Storms.

This Fortnite guide covers what Donut Storms are, how to find them, and how to collect dangerous items inside them quickly.

    What are Fortnite Donut Storms?

A Fortnite Donut Storm is a special storm phase where the safe zone has:

    • A safe inner circle
    • A ring of storm surrounding it
    • An outer area that may or may not be safe, depending on the phase

    This creates the “donut” shape.

Instead of the storm closing inward evenly, the next circle forms around the previous one, but with a hole in the middle. The storm basically becomes a loop instead of a solid wall.

Donut Storms are part of the Fortnite x Simpsons season, but they can appear in any match played during the event period.

The key detail: You must be inside the storm ring itself, not the safe zone, to complete certain challenges.

The first circles look normal. Fortnite Donut Storms usually start appearing around Storm 3–5. When the next safe zone forms as two circles—a centre zone and an outer ring—you’ve found one.

Open the map. If you see:

    • A safe inner circle
    • A storm ring around it
    • A larger outer area

That means the match is using a Donut Storm pattern.

For quests, rotate toward the storm ring, not the safe centre. You must be inside the ring itself for challenge progress.

How to survive in Fortnite Donut Storms

One of the event quests in the mash-up between Fortnite and The Simpsons asks you to survive for 30 seconds inside Donut Storms. Once you complete that, you’ll unlock access to another challenge: collecting dangerous objects inside those storms.

Surviving inside a Donut Storm for 30 seconds is the first hurdle:

    • As soon as you see the storm ring or falling donuts, try to position yourself inside the affected zone but not directly under a falling donut if you can help it.
    • Keep moving sideways or use buildings and terrain to avoid getting hit by a falling donut.
    • Avoid open areas where you’re easy target for both donuts and other players.
    • After 30 seconds, you’ll have completed the survive portion and can shift your focus to collecting items.

Dangerous objects simply mean weapons or any object that can deal damage. Here’s exactly how to complete the challenge:

Move into the donut-falling area as soon as the storm begins. The longer you stay outside, the more likely the storm end before you collect anything.

Most donuts carry loot such as chests, weapons, ammo, or healing items. As the donuts fall:

    • Some items will drop mid-air.
    • Others will spill out when donuts hit the ground and break open.

Any of these are valid pickups for the quest.

You only need to collect three items inside the Donut Storm to complete the challenge. Pick up:

    • Weapons
    • Ammo
    • Healing items
    • Anything you can reach quickly

Once you grab the required items, sprint out of the storm before the next donut lands. The danger zone is unpredictable, and staying too long almost guarantees elimination.

4 tips for Fortnite Donut Storm survival

    1. Stick to the edges of the storm so you can retreat quickly.
    2. Keep your camera upward so you can see donuts falling above you.
    3. If you don’t see loot on the ground, watch for donuts that are about to break open and grab items from the debris.
    4. Complete the challenge fast; most Donut Storms only last a few seconds.ü

Fortnite Donut Storms bring a fresh challenge: first stay alive for 30 seconds amid falling donuts, then use that same zone to collect loot while taking damage. Play with purpose, keep moving, and you’ll complete the quests and come away with good gear.
