Fracture is one of the maps that were added to the pool after the beta of VALORANT. It has a special design that divides the map in half. This results in a gameplay that forces both teams to adjust their tactics and coordinate their actions. We will give a thorough overview of Fracture in this article, outlining its main features, frequent callouts, and best agents to use.

Fracture map in VALORANT: Everything you need to know

Fracture is a special map in VALORANT that has an H-shaped layout and two bombsites, A and B. The attackers spawn on either side of the huge crack that divides the map in half, with the defenders spawning in its center. This creates an extremely fluid and unpredictable map by giving the attackers many options for how to approach the sites and attempt to plant the Spike.

Fracture changes in VALORANT

Initially, Fracture had a different layout, but the VALORANT developers decided to make adjustments to the map. Here are all the places in Fracture that were changed with Patch 5.07:

  • Arcade: Opened a cubby here to make it easier for Attacking side to hold against Defender aggression from both directions
  • B Site: Jump up was changed to a ramp directly onto the site platform, which should make moving around that space more straightforward.
  • B Generator: Space here tightened slightly to make smoking this spot easier. A small corner was removed to simplify attempts to re-clear the site.
  • Defender Spawn: A small cubby was removed to simplify those retakes slightly.
  • A Halls: The space was simplified, and A Hall's movement improved by removing a corner.
  • A Site: A minor simplification of the space as part of the overall changes to the surrounding areas.
  • A Dish: The far path of the dish was removed, as it was hard for players to watch/control both spaces. This route might be used more often in the future.
  • A Drop: It is not a 50/50 check anymore when entering. It is made to make the dish route more favorable.
  • A Rope: The adjustments gave Defenders more options as it was easier for Attackers to control it with a single smoke.

Fracture map in VALORANT: Best agents

Agents that can adjust to various circumstances and angles and a great deal of coordination and map awareness are necessary for fracture. Based on their skills and roles, here are the Best agents on Fracture:

  • Breach
  • Neon
  • Killjoy
  • Raze
  • Brimstone
  • Fade

Breach is a highly potent initiator, and adding Fracture to the map roster has opened up many possibilities for using his kit. The agent thrives at both Defense and Attack by making the most of his flash and control abilities and the numerous barriers present in the area. His ultimate has a significant effect on this map because it covers the bombsite of choice for entry while on the attacking side or blocks a team's advance when on defense.

Neon is an excellent choice for individuals who enjoy her quick playstyle because of her extremely long and constrained corridors. When used properly, Neon is perhaps one of the best agents on Fracture and can enter any bombsite rapidly while also gaining a lot of ground for their colleagues. Neon is an excellent agent for rapid hits on certain sides of the map when on the defending side, and he can also rotate swiftly if needed.

Killjoy is a great fit for Fracture because she can protect a bombsite by herself if necessary. Her kit is ideal for any bombsite, and her ultimate has tremendous utility in both Attack and Defense. She excels above other Sentinels on Fracture primarily due to the fact that she has more locations to set up her turret and Nanoswarms and because she makes extensive use of the map's enclosed spaces.

Fracture is the ideal setting for Raze to shine because of the fantastic combination of skills she has access to, both for her movement and the superb terrain management she possesses. Raze is a formidable opponent on Attack, and her kit is ideal for retaking both bombsites. She is one of the greatest VALORANT Duelists currently playable on Fracture.

Brimstone has complete control over the map thanks to his robust and incredibly effective smokes, which he uses to close crucial angles for his team during an attack or to prevent the opposition from moving forward easily when defending. For Fracture, Brimstone has a powerful ultimate that makes it easier for his team to advance and take bombsites, inhibits bomb planting, or lessens the potency of opposing control ultimates, like Killjoy's.

As the most powerful recon agent on Fracture, Fade has solidified her position and the design of the map perfectly complements her arsenal of skills. Her presence is incredibly valuable because the map has numerous excellent lineup locations, her Prowlers are essential for acquiring a lot of space and information for her team on both Attack and Defense, and her Ultimate is a show to itself.

Fracture is another map that we had plenty of time to soo on the international stage. In 2023, teams kept on picking the map in international tournaments. Where is Fracture located?

Fracture takes place at an old research facility in New Mexico, USA. The location of Santa Fe, a well-known city in New Mexico, is shown on the map by the coordinates 35°48'BI" N 106°08'YQ" W, which is displayed during the in-game queue.

When did Fracture come out?

In VALORANT, Episode 3 Act 2's Fracture map was made available on September 8, 2021. It is the first map to be released since Icebox in December 2020 and the eighth map to be made available in the game. The map was first revealed in a teaser trailer on August 25, 2021.

Fracture map layout

Although it may seem difficult, Fracture is actually quite easy to understand. The map is modest compared to bigger maps like Breeze and Haven, yet has many varied spots. Fracture contains four ultimate orbs on the map. Therefore, players should be mindful that map control is essential.

The attackers can move about the map in a number of different ways. They can quickly travel between the two locations using the zip lines or use the rope ascenders to ascend to higher ground. Although they have fewer options, the defenders can also rotate using the zip lines. The wide rift that divides the map in half is known as the Fracture Fissure. Both the attackers and the defenders cannot directly bridge the fissure since it is impassable. The fissure can be crossed using the zip lines or the rope ascenders, which they can use to ascend to higher land and bridge the fissure from there.

Fracture lore VALORANT

The map Fracture takes place at the "Everett-Linde Facility," an abandoned Kingdom research facility close to Diablo Canyon, New Mexico. A Radian Collider was being developed there for the purpose of conducting in-depth research on Radianite particles. Unusually, the Kingdoms of both Earth and -Earth collaborated to carry out the operations that took place here.

The Kingdom of Earth refers to itself as Kingdom Corp (or K-CORP), while the Kingdom of -Earth refers to itself as Kingdom Industries (or K-IND) in order to prevent misunderstanding between the two Kingdoms.

The Dual-Biome Split was the Disaster's most noticeable result, and it was accompanied by a gigantic blue split between the facility's two parts (this fracture is where the map gets its name).

The devs sought to use methods different than the typical combination of "vague environmental storytelling coupled with the occasional voice lines and a Playercard" while developing the mythology for Fracture. As a result, much of the narrative for this map has been revealed via irregularly updated interactable, mysterious ciphers and other similar features. Kingdom Archives has created an archive of all of them.

The third activity that is now accessible allows players to locate a security clearance card that belonged to Kindom employee Paul Delmann. On the other side of the attack spawn, adjacent to what is marked on the map as "A Gate," is where you may find the VALORANT Fracture security card. You'll see a shiny black ball; inside of it, you'll find Paul Delmann, a Kindom employee,'s security clearance card.

How to play Fracture VALORANT

When playing Fracture, the map design is the first thing to take into account. Fracture allows both sides an equal chance to attack and defend, in contrast to other maps where the defenders have a definite edge in retaining the bomb sites. Since you may change sides at any time, you must be more versatile and smooth in your tactics. The ziplines that connect the two sides of the map must also be taken into consideration because they may be used to flank or spin an opponent rapidly.

Communication is one of the most crucial elements of playing Fracture. You must work together with your teammates on both sides and communicate knowledge of opponent movements and locations since the map is divided into two halves. Additionally, you must choose which side to concentrate on and when to advance or withdraw. Communication is essential to prevent being taken by surprise or outnumbered by the adversary.

VALORANT Viper lineups: Fracture

The VALORANT Viper lineups Fracture will help you use the Agent better on the map. A well-rounded map, Ascent provides a selection of various viewpoints and angles. This makes it the ideal map for Viper, who can use her skills to take control of the various locations and set up chokepoints for the other team.

Viper, for instance, may use her wall to isolate mid from all sides, making it hard for the opposing team to rotate. In order to make it tough for the other team to enter the site, she can also use her smoke to block off the window on A Site.

Additionally, a region of the map can be entirely denied using Viper's Pit, his ultimate power. Ascent has a number of chokepoints that can be easily cut off using Viper's Pit; therefore, this can be highly effective.

Fracture tips for attackers

Attackers can theoretically have two spawns. This results from the game's opening with access to the zipline. When making an assault on Valorant's Fracture, you can distract your opponents' attention to leave yourself with an open target. However, be cautious about taking precautions since if they learn, it might spell your death.

As attackers have several alternatives and paths to take, Fracture is a map that demands a lot of teamwork and communication. Your squad should be informed of your strategy, location, capabilities, and opponents at all times. Additionally, pay attention to the calls and feedback from your teammates and modify your plan as necessary.

The ziplines that link the two spawn places for the attackers are among Fracture's most striking design elements. You may rapidly go from one side of the game to the other with these ziplines, surprising the defenders. They may be used to simulate a push on one location while your squad rotates to the other site. They can also be used to flee a dangerous position or to surprise the defenders from behind.

Fracture tips for defenders

Fracture may be a difficult map for defenders since they must contend with several assault angles and continuous pressure from the attackers. On Fracture, a few tactics and ideas can help defenders keep their position and take home more victories.

When defending on Fracture, having a capable smoker like Viper or Brimstone will help you secure sites and prevent attackers from quickly rotating. Make sure your smokes are breaking up the map and covering angles so that your top fragger can kill each of your opponents individually.

With long-range weaponry, maintain angles. Lengthy-range weapons like rifles and snipers are more advantageous in Fracture due to their lengthy sightlines and vast spaces. As a defender, you should attempt to maintain positions that provide you an edge over a potential pistol or SMG-wielding attacker. A Tower, B Tower and Dish are a few decent places to hold. You may use tools like smoke or barriers to cut off some angles and compel the attackers to approach you more closely.
