Best Expedite 12 loadout for Warzone & MW3
The Expedite 12 may only be a humble C-tier weapon in the gun meta for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, but we’re here to show you just how wrong you’d be to count this semi-auto bad boy out.
Sure, it may not be the best shotgun. You might well even prefer the KV Broadside or Bryson 800…
But this short-range brute based on the IRL Benelli M4 can still pack one helluva punch and help you totally dominate your enemies in Warzone. If you’re in the market for a new gun to carve swathes through your opponents, take a walk on the wild side with us today and let’s kit you out with the best Expedite 12 loadout to do exactly that.
Boom. Boom. Boo. Yah.
How do you unlock the Expedite 12?
Reach player rank 9 and you’ll unlock the Expedite 12 shotgun for your arsenal in Warzone. That’s not asking much, is it? The only shotgun you’ll get your hands on faster is the Bryson 800.

Attachments
This Expedite 12 loadout is designed to help play to this semi-auto shotgun’s strengths and make it as easy as possible to down your enemies without making sacrifices to the gods of headshots.
The main thing we’re aiming to do with this build is control the Expedite 12’s rageful recoil and make the gun entirely more manageable for those of us who don’t live our lives on mad bucking broncos. Between the FTAC Ripper underbarrel and the Bryson Reverb-55 stock, we’ll do exactly that.
With the Schlager Fang rear grip attached too, you’d sooner hear an ant fart than notice the Expedite’s kick. Of course, you might find that overkill. If you’re happy to handle a bit more bite, try swapping in the 1mW Quick Fire Laser for a tasty boost to your ADS speed.
Or, keep the Schlager and swap the Reverb-55 stock for the Resonance Stock Collapsed, which gives an ungodly mobility boost that’ll crank up the aggressive potential of the Expedite big time.
Back to the fire-breathing front end of the gun, the Bryson Choke is invaluable for tightening up the Expedite 12’s pellet spread, and a sure-fire way to make every shot as effective and predictable as possible.
And honestly, if you drop in without the Expedite L-Bolt in your loadout, you’re out of your mind. Since the Expedite 12 is a semi-auto shotgun, this attachment is an absolute must for cranking up the fire rate to “what the hell just hit me” levels.
Perks and equipment
Does this loadout make the Expedite 12 more reliable than ever? You betcha. Does that mean we’d suggest dropping in with a class that doesn’t include Overkill and the support of a long-range beast like the Kastov 545, the FR Avancer, or the Victus XMR? Not on your life.
Double Time feels essential since it’ll help keep you up in the enemy’s grill where the Expedite will perform best, but you could get on just dandy with a perk like Battle Hardened or Tracker in its place if you prefer.
We’d definitely suggest Fast Hands for your Expedite 12 loadout, since this shotgun’s ammo capacity is sorely lacking. Plus, it’ll make you as fast as possible when the time comes to switch primary weapons (and that time will come).
That said, Spotter is a solid choice for the Expedite 12 too, since it’ll keep you vigilant AF as you push new areas.
Any way you slice it, we like Ghost for your final perk slot, since it again helps keep you playing at the kind of range best suited to this shotgun.
FAQs
Is the Expedite 12 good?
Yes, the Expedite 12 is a solid shotgun. It performs well when you stay in close range, and when built properly it becomes reliable for fast, aggressive plays. Its strengths include decent handling for a shotgun, and when used with the right loadout it can still drop enemies quickly. On the downside: shotguns inherently suffer from range-drop off and inconsistency outside very close combat, so Expedite 12 works best for room clears, building pushes, or tight-space fights — not long-range battles.
What is the best shotgun in Warzone right now?
Shotgun viability in Warzone shifts with patches and meta changes. But currently, one of the top contenders is the Lockwood 680 — it’s frequently listed among the strongest shotguns because it's versatile and performs consistently at close range. Other shotguns can also perform well depending on your style (e.g. aggressive rushing, slugs/attachments, etc.), but Lockwood 680 tends to balance reliability, damage and ease of use better than most.
If you prioritize speed, handling, and close-quarters kills — Lockwood 680 (or similarly-meta shotguns) tend to be the safest “go-to.”
Is there a one-shot shotgun in Warzone?
Yes, there are shotgun builds in Warzone that are capable of one-shot kills, especially at very close range. These depend heavily on range, attachments, pellet or slug spread, and hit placement. That said, shotguns are often inconsistent: outside very close quarters, or if pellets miss or hit armor, a one-shot kill becomes less reliable.
