Step aside, Signal 50, there’s a new top dawg in town.
How do you unlock the KATT-AMR?
Since it’s a base weapon in MW3, you don’t have to do a single thing to unlock the KATT-AMR. Just fire up Warzone and this bad boy will be sitting there waiting for you. Of course, you’ll need to hit level 4 still before you can mod your loadout at the Gunsmith.

Attachments
The KATT-AMR’s main weakness is its lousy mobility, so that’s what we’re going to focus on fixing with this loadout, while making sure it remains a top-notch long-range one-shotter.
First up, the Sonic Suppressor XL and the Zang-34 barrel are pretty much no-brainers (the kind that’ll increase your odds of making your enemies no-brainers, too - geddit?). Between these two attachments, you’ll crank up the KATT-AMR’s damage range and bullet velocity to scarily destructive levels, all while keeping your rifle off the radar.
With the FSS OLE-V laser in your loadout, you’ll notably pump up your ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds. Or, if you prefer, whack the .50 Cal Spire Point ammo into the build to give the KATT-AMR even more firepower.
Now that we’ve ensured our KATT loadout has as much long-range power as possible, it’s time to really fix that handling. We’ll do that with the Precision Stock Pad stock, which levels out the aiming idle sway and firing aim stability to give you the control you need to pull off those devastating long-range headshots.
Round it all out with the Ephemeral Quickbolt to keep you reloading as fast as possible and you’re really cooking with fire.
Perks and equipment
Double Time and Sleight of Hand both work perfectly with any KATT-AMR loadout, as they’ll really complete the whole “let’s make this beast as mobile as possible” approach needed for a rock-solid build.
We like Tempered for perk number 3, as a strong way to keep yourself armored up to the teeth, though you might also consider something like E.O.D, to shield yourself from the extra explosive damage of frags these days. It’s your call really.
Then High Alert to give you that sniper’s Spidey Sense so enemies can’t sneak up on you while you’re lining up your next headshot.
Equipment is always more of a personal preference choice, but we like Semtex and Smokes for our KATT-AMR loadout. They’ll keep you swift and deadly, and help you rotate and escape whenever you need it most.
FAQs
Is the KATT-AMR good in MW3?
Yes, the KATT-AMR is a very strong sniper rifle in MW3 and Warzone. It delivers extremely high damage, excellent bullet velocity, and reliable one-shot potential at long range. It’s ideal for players who like patient, long-range sniping, holding angles, and picking off targets from distance. Its main drawback is slower handling and mobility, so it’s less suited for quick close-range engagements — but for pure long-range sniping, it’s one of the best options available.
What bolt-action rifle do snipers use in Warzone?
Snipers in Warzone typically use bolt-action rifles because they offer the highest per-shot damage and the best chance of securing one-shot or quick two-shot kills. Bolt-action rifles excel at long range due to:
- High bullet velocity
- Excellent precision
- Strong upper-body and headshot damage
- Reliable kill potential at distance
Some snipers prefer semi-auto or fast-cycling sniper rifles for follow-up shots, but bolt-actions remain the go-to choice for maximum stopping power and one-shot lethality.
What is the best sniper rifle in Warzone right now?
The best sniper rifles in the current Warzone meta deliver a mix of high damage, long-range reliability, and fast handling (for mobile snipers). Top options include:
- HDR – One of the strongest long-range snipers available. Heavy damage, excellent bullet speed, and consistent one-shot potential at distance.
- Kar98k (modern version) – Favored by aggressive snipers for its fast ADS speed and quick-scope capability. Great for medium-range sniping and mobile playstyles.
- KATT-AMR – Extremely powerful, slow but deadly. Great for players who want pure long-range one-shot performance.
Each is strong, but HDR and KATT-AMR excel for long-range precision, while Kar98k dominates for speed and aggressive sniping.
