Inflation hit Fortnite Crew: Changes explained
Fortnite Crew loses V-Bucks valueFortnite Crew just took a hit. Epic Games has reduced the monthly V-Bucks grant from 1,000 to 800, which means the subscription is no longer as rewarding as it used to be. The change also comes as Fortnite’s wider economy becomes more expensive.
In this guide, we break down the Fortnite Crew changes, the new V-Bucks pricing, and what these updates mean for subscribers.
Fortnite Crew changes explained
The latest Fortnite Crew changes are mainly about one thing: subscribers will get fewer V-Bucks each month. Epic Games said the monthly Fortnite Crew V-Bucks grant will change from 1,000 V-Bucks to 800 V-Bucks.

The reduction from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks affects purchase planning. In the past, Crew helped players build currency faster for Item Shop purchases, emotes, and special cosmetics. With the lower monthly grant, players will need more time or more direct spending to reach the same goals.
At the same time, Epic has also changed the wider Fortnite economy. The Battle Pass now costs 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000, and players can earn 800 V-Bucks by completing it. Epic also said there are no longer V-Bucks in the Bonus Rewards of the Pass. That means the pass can still fund the next pass, but it no longer gives the extra V-Bucks that many players used to build up more currency over time.
Meanwhile, V-Bucks are getting more expensive
At the same time as the Fortnite Crew changes, Epic is also making V-Bucks more expensive in practice. The listed cash price of the packs may stay the same, but players now get fewer V-Bucks for that money. That means the value of each purchase is lower than before.

What does Fortnite Crew still include?
Even after these Fortnite Crew changes, the service still gives players a monthly Crew Pack. Epic says each Crew Pack includes a new Outfit and at least one matching item, such as a Pickaxe, Glider, Wrap, or Emote. For March 2026, Epic lists the Skull Raider Outfit, Skullcracker Pack Back Bling, and Skullcracker Pickaxe as that month’s Crew Pack.
So the subscription still offers exclusive cosmetics every month. That part has not gone away. What changed is the amount of V-Bucks players receive with the subscription.
Is Fortnite Crew still worth it?
That depends on why someone uses it. If a player mainly wants the monthly Crew Pack and likes exclusive cosmetics, Fortnite Crew may still feel useful. Epic is still offering monthly items through the subscription, and those items remain Crew-exclusive.

But if a player mainly used Fortnite Crew for the monthly V-Bucks, then the new Fortnite Crew changes are a clear downgrade. Going from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks means the subscription gives less direct currency value every month. That’s why people are already cancelling their Fortnite Crew memberships.
So the service still has value, but the value is lower than before. That is the simplest way to look at it.
