Fortnite Relic Chests are one of the most valuable loot containers in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. These special blue chests offer significantly better rewards than standard chests and have become one of the best ways to find rare loot, Sprites, mobility items, and high-tier weapons. Players hunting Legendary Sprites or trying to build a powerful loadout should always prioritize Relic Chests whenever possible.

What is a Fortnite Relic Chest?

A Relic Chest is a rare loot container introduced in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. Many players also refer to them as Rare Chests because they function similarly to the glowing blue chests from previous seasons. Compared to normal chests, Relic Chests contain better loot pools and have a chance to drop some of the season's most valuable items.
The easiest way to identify one is by its blue glow.

    Relic Chest rewards can include:

    • Epic weapons
    • Legendary weapons
    • Seven Sliders
    • Healing items
    • Utility items
    • Sprite-related loot
    • Rare resources
    • High-tier consumables

Because of their improved loot table, most competitive players will choose a Relic Chest over several standard chests whenever possible.

What do Fortnite Relic Chests look like?

Relic Chests are visually different from regular chests.

    Standard Chest

    • Gold appearance
    • Common loot pool
    • Found almost everywhere

    Relic Chest

    • Blue glow
    • Higher-quality rewards
    • Less common spawn rate
    • Better chance at premium loot

If you see a glowing blue chest while looting, it's usually worth opening immediately.

Where to find Fortnite Relic Chests

Unlike some seasonal items, Relic Chests do not have fixed guaranteed locations.

Instead, they can spawn throughout the Chapter 7 Season 3 map, particularly in areas with high-quality loot, such as:

    • Vaults
    • Major POIs
    • High-tier loot locations
    • Boss areas
    • Sprite Vaults
    • Underground facilities
    • Named locations with heavy loot density

Vaults are currently one of the best places to farm Relic Chests because they often contain multiple premium containers.

    Relic Chests and Sprites

One of the biggest reasons players hunt Relic Chests is the chance to get rare Sprites.

According to current Chapter 7 Season 3 data, Relic Chests can drop:

    • Rare Sprites
    • Epic Sprites
    • Legendary Sprites
    • Special event Sprites

Some of the rarest Sprites in the game can only realistically be farmed through Sprite Chests and Relic Chests.

    Burnt Peanut Sprite

The Burnt Peanut Sprite has an extremely low drop chance and can appear from Relic Chests and Sprite Chests. Current estimates place the drop rate at around 1.5%.

    Zero Point Sprite

The Zero Point Sprite is one of the rarest companions in Fortnite C7S3 and can also appear from Relic Chests, although Sprite Chests remain the best source.

Are Relic Chests better than Sprite Chests?

Both chest types are valuable, but they serve different purposes.

If your goal is getting a rare Sprite, Sprite Chests are usually the better option. If you want strong weapons while still having a chance at valuable Sprites, Relic Chests offer more overall value.

How to farm Fortnite Relic Chests faster

If you're trying to maximize your chances of finding Relic Chests, follow these strategies:

    Land at Vaults

Vaults frequently contain premium loot and often include Relic Chests.

    Learn High-Loot Routes

Focus on locations with large numbers of chest spawns rather than isolated buildings.

    Open Every Relic Chest

Even if your loadout is already strong, rare Sprites can still appear.

    Play During Sprite Events

Some seasonal events increase Sprite-related rewards and make farming more efficient.

    Carry a Portable Extractor

If you find a rare Sprite from a Relic Chest, a Portable Extractor allows you to secure it much more safely.

The Fortnite Relic Chest is currently one of the best loot containers in Chapter 7 Season 3. These blue rare chests provide better rewards than standard chests, offer a chance to obtain powerful weapons, and can even drop some of the season's rarest Sprites, including the Burnt Peanut Sprite and Zero Point Sprite.
If you're serious about collecting Sprites, building strong loadouts, or progressing through Fortnite C7S3's new systems, Relic Chests should always be a top priority whenever you encounter one during a match.
