Fortnite recently dropped a new easter egg called “Suitcase of Patience” and it is quite unusual. The suitcase always spawns in the same spot, and many players try to reach it early. If you want to try your luck, you need to know where to find it, what’s inside, and how to open it without losing progress. Yes, progress, because it needs time and patience and you won’t believe the reason. Let’s take a closer look at what the Suitcase of Patience is and how to open it in Fortnite!

What's in the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite?

The Suitcase of Patience gives high-tier loot, including Epic and Legendary weapons. These items can give you a big advantage, especially in the late stages of a match. Players have found weapons like the Epic Surefire SMG and Epic Killstreak Revolvers, which come with special effects such as slowing down time.

However, the loot is random. You may find very strong gear, or you may get something less useful. A Legendary weapon is not guaranteed, but there is a good chance you will find at least one Epic item. This makes the suitcase a valuable option for players who are willing to take a risk.

The suitcase works best in Duos or Squads. One teammate can focus on unlocking it while others guard the area. This makes it easier to stay safe and complete the 10-minute timer. If you try it in Solo mode, it’s harder because other players may attack you before you finish. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t open the suitcase in Solo mode as plenty of players managed to do it and shared their accomplishments on Reddit.

Here is a simpler look at what’s inside the suitcase of patience in Fortnite:

    • The suitcase gives Epic or Legendary loot
    • Items include high-damage and special-effect weapons
    • Loot is randomized, but quality is usually high
    • Works better in team modes for safety

Where to find the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite?

There is only one spawn location for the Suitcase of Patience. You can find it northeast of Floxy Floodgate, inside a small wooden shed. The shed sits between a river and a road, and the location stays the same in every match.

When you land near Floxy Floodgate, head toward the small cabin near the water. Once you go inside, you will see the suitcase on the floor. It is easy to spot, and you don’t need to search the area.

Since this location never changes, many players head there at the start of the match. If you want a better chance to unlock the suitcase, try landing directly at the cabin. You can also close the door once inside to reduce the chance of being seen.

    How to open the suitcase

Technically, it is very easy to open the Suitcase of Patience since you have to hold a simple button, but the problem is the time it takes. To unlock it, hold the interact button for 10 full minutes. The timer fills slowly, and there is no way to speed it up. Yes, you read that right. You need to hold the interaction button for 10 minutes straight to be able to open this suitcase

If you let go of the interact button or get interrupted, the timer resets completely. You will need to start over from the beginning. Attacking the suitcase or leaving and returning later will not help. You must stay in place and hold the button without stopping.

Because the average Fortnite match lasts around 20 to 25 minutes, spending 10 minutes in one spot is risky. Other players may see you and attack. You might also fall behind in the match if you do not gear up first. That’s why playing in a team is better. One player can open the suitcase while others protect the area.

Opening the suitcase is not a good idea if:

    • You are playing Solo
    • The storm is closing in
    • You don’t have backup

It becomes a better option if:

    • You are in Duos or Squads
    • You land early and start opening right away
    • Your teammates can watch your back
