Fortnite Crew is one of the most valuable subscriptions in the game. It unlocks the current Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks each month, and an exclusive monthly skin bundle. From 18 November 2025, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate began including Fortnite Crew as a built-in perk at no extra cost. If you already live in Fortnite every week, this changes how you should pay for your subscriptions. Let’s go over all of the details!

    What is Fortnite Crew?

Fortnite Crew is a monthly membership for players who log in often and want constant rewards. The membership usually includes:

    • Full access to the current Fortnite Battle Pass and any extra seasonal passes, such as OG or LEGO.
    • 1,000 V-Bucks credited to your account every month.
    • A monthly Crew Pack that features an exclusive outfit with matching cosmetics.
    • Extra benefits in connected games like Rocket League while promotions remain active.

Why did Fortnite Crew move to Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is Microsoft’s highest tier. It bundles console games, PC titles, cloud gaming, EA Play, and in-game perks. Fortnite Crew joins this list as a new Ultimate benefit. The strategy is simple. Xbox wants players to see Ultimate as a single subscription that covers the Fortnite Battle Pass, other passes, a large game library, and cloud access in one package.

Which Game Pass plan do you need for Fortnite Crew?

Only Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Fortnite Crew. Other plans do not:

    • Game Pass Essential
    • Game Pass Premium
    • PC Game Pass

If you use one of these tiers, you must either upgrade to Ultimate or keep paying for Fortnite Crew as a separate subscription. Players on Xbox who only care about Fortnite should compare the usual Crew price with the new Ultimate price and decide which one makes more sense over a full year.

How to link your Epic and Xbox accounts: Step-by-step

You cannot claim Fortnite Crew through Game Pass Ultimate without a proper account link. Xbox needs to see which Epic account should receive the perks. The process is simple and you do it once.

    1. Open a browser and go to the Epic Games website.
    2. Sign in with the Epic account that you use for Fortnite on Xbox or PC.
    3. Click your profile icon in the top right corner.
    4. Select Account from the dropdown menu.
    5. In the left menu, open the Linked Accounts section.
    6. Find Xbox Network in the list.
    7. Click Link and sign in with the Microsoft account that holds your Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
    8. Confirm that you want to connect the two accounts.

After this link, Xbox can push Ultimate benefits, including Fortnite Crew, directly to your Fortnite profile.

How to activate Fortnite Crew on Xbox and PC

Once you have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and your accounts are linked, the system should add Fortnite Crew to your account automatically. You do not need a separate code or manual redemption.

    To confirm activation:

    1. Start your Xbox console or open the Xbox app on PC.
    2. Launch Fortnite from your library or from cloud gaming if your region supports it.
    3. Go to the Battle Pass tab in the main menu and check if the current pass appears as owned.
    4. Look for the Crew section in the lobby and check for your current Crew Pack.
    5. Open your V-Bucks balance and monitor the next monthly grant date.

Sometimes the system needs a short processing time after you link your accounts or after you upgrade to Ultimate. If Fortnite Crew does not appear immediately, close the game, wait a little, then launch Fortnite again and check the same menus.

If you want more context on how much the standard Battle Pass costs when you buy it separately, you can read the breakdown of how much the Fortnite Battle Pass costs.

What to do if you already pay for Fortnite Crew?

Many players already subscribed to Fortnite Crew before Xbox added it to Game Pass Ultimate. In most cases, once your Epic and Xbox accounts are linked and your Ultimate membership is active, Fortnite Crew should convert into a Game Pass perk automatically.

Even so, you should always check for double billing:

    1. On Xbox, open the guide with the Xbox button.
    2. Go to Profile & system.
    3. Select Account.
    4. Choose Subscriptions.
    5. Look for a standalone Fortnite Crew subscription and check the next billing date.

If you still see an active paid Crew subscription alongside Game Pass Ultimate, consider cancelling the direct Crew subscription so you do not pay twice. Keep an eye on your next payment date and make sure the free Crew perk from Ultimate is already visible in Fortnite before you cancel anything.-
