Epic Games has a long track record of surprising fans with pop culture partnerships, and the Fortnite and Sonic the Hedgehog collab is the latest to make headlines. From real-world Puma sneakers to in-game cosmetic items, this collaboration has a lot to offer.

Here is a full breakdown of what has been confirmed, what has been leaked, and what fans can expect from the Fortnite × Sonic crossover.

Fortnite and Sonic the Hedgehog collab: Fortnite Puma collaboration & more

Here is what we know so far:

    • Puma Sneakers: Puma is releasing a new Sonic the Hedgehog shoe collection on October 30, 2025. The line includes sneakers based on Sonic, Shadow, and Tails. These will be sold worldwide online and in stores.

    • Fortnite game files: Dataminers have found textures and 3D models of Sonic and Shadow Puma sneakers inside Fortnite’s files. These will appear as “Kicks” cosmetics in the Item Shop. So far, only Sonic and Shadow have been spotted in-game, while Tails has not.

    • Item shop release: The sneakers will likely be sold in the Fortnite Item Shop. Epic has not announced a price, but based on similar cosmetics, they could cost around 1,200 V-Bucks each. The release date has not been confirmed, but it will likely happen close to Puma’s October 30 launch.

No news for Sonic the Hedgehog skins and cosmetics, yet

    • Skins: At the time of writing, no full Sonic, Shadow, or Tails character Fortnite skins have been leaked yet. Only shoes are confirmed.
    • Other cosmetics: Items like pickaxes, gliders, or emotes have not appeared in leaks so far.
    • Exact timing: The in-game release may come before or after the Puma drop, but no date is confirmed.

The Fortnite Sonic the Hedgehog Collab combines real-world Puma sneakers with Fortnite cosmetics. At least Sonic and Shadow shoes will arrive in-game, and Tails may follow. Puma’s sneakers release on October 30, 2025, and Fortnite is expected to add the matching cosmetics around the same time.

Full skins and other cosmetics have not been confirmed, but many fans believe this is just the start. Whether or not Sonic himself joins the Fortnite roster, players will soon be able to step into his shoes—literally.

This is not the first Puma x Fortnite collab

The upcoming Sonic crossover isn’t the first time Puma has teamed up with Fortnite. Earlier in 2025, the LaMelo Ball × LF × Puma Bundle dropped in the Item Shop.

The LaMelo Ball bundle featured two custom “Kicks” cosmetics based on Puma sneakers:

    • PUMA × LaFrancé Butterfly ‘Pure Magenta/Ultra Violet’
    • PUMA × LaMelo Ball × TMNT MB.04 ‘Raphael and Donatello’

These items gave players a way to bring LaMelo Ball’s signature style, mixed with bold colors and pop culture themes, into Fortnite.

Released on June 28, 2025 during Chapter 6, Season 3, the bundle came in at 1,500 V-Bucks, a discount compared to buying the pieces separately.

This collab set the stage for what we’re now seeing with the Sonic tie-in. By linking Puma sneakers directly with Fortnite cosmetics, Epic Games is building a pattern: players can show off the same designs on their characters in-game and on their feet in real life.
