Shogun's Arena Fortnite, aka 'Arena Imperial', isn’t easy to find—but it’s worth the chase. This floating battleground drops in late, packs rare loot, and throws you into a fight with a deadly boss. In this Fortnite guide, we’ll show you how to find it, survive on it, and maybe even take down Shogun X himself.

Fortnite Shogun's Arena location: Find it in 4 easy steps

Shogun’s Arena doesn’t appear in the same place every match. It also won’t be there when the game begins. Instead, it only shows up after the fourth Storm circle starts to close.

To find it, follow these steps:

    1. Wait until the fourth Storm circle begins to form. That’s when the arena usually appears.
    2. Look up at the sky—a bright red light will mark where a rift is opening.
    3. Once the Arena spawns, check your map. You’ll see a group of red islands along with a boss icon marking where Shogun X is located.
    4. Go to the area below the Arena and use an Air Sprite (a glowing launcher on the ground) to fly up to the floating islands.

You can’t reach the Arena without these launchers, so be sure to land near one.

    Surviving in the Arena Imperial

Once you’re on the floating islands, your goal is clear: eliminate two other players to complete the Mortal Kombat quest. But don’t go in guns blazing just yet.

    • Land quickly once the Arena spawns. The earlier you arrive, the better your chances of catching opponents off-guard.
    • Stick to the edges to avoid the wrath of Shogun X while keeping an eye on new arrivals.
    • Use long-range weapons like a sniper or scoped AR to pick off players on the ground or incoming via Air Sprites.
    • Play smart—let others engage the boss or each other first, then swoop in to clean up.

Bonus: Any eliminations on or from Arena Imperial count toward your quest, even if the players you’re hitting are on the ground below.

    How to beat Shogun X

If you want to take on the boss while you’re in the Arena, be ready for a tough fight. Shogun X has several strong attacks and can move quickly across the islands.

Here’s what to watch out for:

    • Teleporting: Shogun X can disappear and reappear somewhere else. If he vanishes and starts attacking again, that means another player might be on the island too.
    • Fire Mask Attack: He throws three fire masks in a spread. Run sideways to avoid getting hit.
    • Energy Explosions: He builds up energy in his hands and causes explosions on the ground. Stay out of the glowing circles to avoid damage.
    • Sword Dash: He puts his sword away right before dashing at you. When you see this, crouch or slide to dodge the attack.

If you manage to defeat him, Shogun X will drop:

    • A Chug Jug to fully heal
    • An Enhanced Holo Twister Assault Rifle
    • A Super Shield Medallion to give you strong protection for the rest of the match

Shogun's Arena, or "Arena Imperial", is not just another place to loot—it’s a high-risk, high-reward zone that only appears partway through a match. Whether you’re trying to finish a quest, take out other players, or defeat the powerful Shogun X, timing and preparation are key.

Keep an eye on the sky, move fast when the rift appears, and be ready for a fight once you land.
