What are Hytale Memories?

Hytale Memories are permanent records of creatures you encounter during your adventure. Each time you discover a new creature, it is added to your Memories collection. This system works like an in-game encyclopedia, tracking wildlife, monsters, and rare entities across different biomes.

The goal of Hytale Memories is exploration, not combat. You are rewarded for discovery. As you collect more Memories, you unlock milestone rewards that provide quality-of-life improvements such as fast travel and inventory upgrades.

How to unlock Memories in Hytale

You cannot collect Memories at the start of the game. First, you must unlock the system by visiting a special structure called the Forgotten Temple.

• Locate the Forgotten Temple: The Forgotten Temple usually spawns near your starting area. It appears as a distinct, symmetrical structure that stands out from the terrain.

• Enter the Temple: Inside, you may encounter a hostile guardian, often an Earthen Golem.
• Use the Portal: At the back of the temple, enter the glowing portal.
• Activate the Heart of Orbis: Inside the portal area, interact with the central artifact known as the Heart of Orbis. This action permanently unlocks the Hytale Memories system for your world.

Important: Only creatures encountered after unlocking Memories will count. Any mobs you saw before activation are not retroactively recorded.

How to get Memories in Hytale

Once unlocked, Hytale Memories are easy to gather.

• You only need to get close to a creature.
• Killing the mob is not necessary.
• When a new Memory is recorded, the game notifies you.

Each creature type counts only once. Seeing the same mob again will not add progress unless it is a different variant or species.

There are hundreds of Hytale Memories available, spread across surface biomes, caves, dungeons, villages, and special locations.
