Supports in League of Legends have a few different playstyles, and Soraka is one of the most iconic of the Enchanter Support champions. This is because she will non-stop heal her allies and gives them buffs that enables them to both stay in Lane and destroy the lane opponent.

Not many champions do this as effectively as Soraka and whilst she is very squishy and mobile, being able to play her correctly and safely allows Soraka players to excel and climb easily as a Support!

This is all you need to know about the champion in League of Legends.

    Passive: Salvation

Soraka gains 90% bonus movement speed when she is facing toward any nearby allied champions that are below 40% of their maximum health.

This has an effect radius of 2500 units, and allows Soraka to get to her allies a lot quicker to heal them and keep them alive!

    Q: Starcall

Soraka summons a star at the target location which deals Magic Damage of up to 225 plus 35% of Soraka's AP to all enemies it hits, and slows them by 30% for 1.5 seconds.

If Soraka hits an enemy champion with disability the star dust will return to Soraka and gives her the Rejuvenation buff for 2.5 seconds, adding extra effects.

Whilst she has this buff the target she heals is healed for 120 health, plus 30% of Soraka's AP over 0.5 seconds and gains movement speed of up to 30% that decays for the same duration.

    W: Astral Infusion

Soraka heels the target champion for up to 170 Health Plus 50% of Soraka's AP, costing Soraka 10% of her maximum health plus up to 60 mana.

If Soraka is under the effect of Rejuvenation, the health cost will be reduced by a certain percentage, which is up to 100% at the maximum level of this ability.

Soraka cannot use disability if she is below 5% of her own maximum health as it is presumed that it would kill her.

    E: Equinox

Soraka summons a zone of celestial energy at the target location which deals up to 170 Magic Damage plus 40% of her AP.

This is own will remain there for 1.5 seconds and silences any enemies that step within it.  after 1.5 seconds as passed, this will then explode to deal the same amount of Magic Damage to enemy champions, and it will also root them for up to two seconds.

    R: Wish

Perhaps Soraka's most iconic ability, she summons down the energy of the stars healing herself and all allied Champions on the Rift for up to 350 HP + 50% of her own AP.

This is also increased by an additional 50% on targets that are below 40% of their maximum health, meaning it is often better to use his ability when your allies are lower HP.

When was Soraka released in League of Legends?

Being in the cast of the original League of Legends champion roster is a privilege that few champions actually have,  but Soraka is one of those.

Soraka was released in the Alpha Week 2 of League of Legends all the way back in 2009, alongside champions such as Annie, Fiddlesticks and Ashe - who was known as Bowmaster back then!

Where is Soraka from in League of Legends?

Soraka has one of the most interesting backstories in the whole of League of Legends, with the fact that she actually comes from The Heavens which is one of the few places we know to have existed before Runeterra.

She currently resides in the Astral Grove in Mount Targon, and we hope that this lore is expanded on more because of this awesome part of her backstory.

Soraka’s Age in League of Legends

As we said, Soraka comes from The Heavens, meaning that she is from a time before recorded history. This means that we have actually no idea about when she was born except for the fact that we know she was born at some point during the Early Universe.

As a Support, Soraka always takes the Sorcery and Resolve trees for her runes.

    Sorcery:

    • Summon Aery
    • Manaflow Band
    • Transcendence
    • Scorch

    Resolve:

    • Bone Plating
    • Revitalize

    Rune Stats:

For her build, you want to start with the Dream Maker Support item, then build Moonstone Renewer, Redemption, and Warmog's Armor. Follow this up with Mikael's Crucible and Ardent Censer.

Soraka’s Voice Actor in League of Legends

Lisa Lindsley is the voice actress for Soraka, who also is known for the classic version of Kayle and Irelia in League of Legends.

Whilst some voice actors that Riot Games used in the first iterations of League of Legends have been replaced when a champion receives a rework, Lisa Lindsley is not one of those. She voiced both the Soraka classic character, and the reworked version of her too.

Why is Soraka obsessed with bananas?

Soraka is not actually obsessed with bananas in her story, but the community made it a fun joke. Her auto attack in the classic skin looks like she throws a banana. This caught players’ attention, and Riot Games later added skins and voice lines that made the joke official. One of her most popular skins is “Order of the Banana Soraka,” which turns her basic attack into an actual banana toss. Her voice line in that skin also says, “Yes, that was a banana,” which helped the meme grow stronger. This idea has no effect on the gameplay, but it adds humor to her character. Riot used the banana joke to make her feel more lighthearted without changing her role or lore.

    Is Soraka beginner-friendly?

Soraka is a strong pick for beginners who want to play support. Her abilities are easy to understand. She can heal allies, silence enemies, and use her ultimate to heal the whole team. Players don’t need fast hands or perfect aim to play her well. However, she has low health and no way to escape fights, so you must stay behind your team and heal at the right times. Soraka teaches good habits like map awareness and team focus. Because of her simple skillset and team-friendly playstyle, she is one of the best support champions for new players in League of Legends.

If Soraka isn't the champion for you, then maybe another Support is what you are looking for,  luckily we have a guide on a load of other champions. So we've decided to specifically give you some Enchanter Supports and general Supports that you can try your hand out to find your perfect main champion!

Hi, my name is Eddie, I am a full-time writer and short-form video editor, with a degree in Esports! My main games are VALORANT and League of Legends, so you could say that I am at the beck and call of Riot Games! I have worked previously for a few different websites, doing various roles, such as writing, editing, and even voiceovers, but here at THESPIKE, I am an out-and-out article writer, so I can really get as much content out as I can! I graduated with my Esports degree with a 2:1, and a desire to keep going, so this was a perfect step for me, but I still can't get enough of League of Legends when I'm free.
